2018 is striding towards the passage door into 2019. The faculty at Scintillon had its last outing of the year.
A new Resilience in Aging center is upcoming in 2019, including two of new faculty members recruited through a very successful program we implemented in 2018—Scintillon Assistant Professor Entry Program, Drs. Yun Yung and Valentin Cracan. We are also happy to have Dr. Joel Buxbaum, a leading researcher on amyloid fibrils during aging, join us earlier this year, and we are confident that we will attract additional world-class scientists in 2019.
Together, with the rest of the faculty and San Diego collaborators, we will study how aging progresses, then test new intervention treatments to slow this long process in much quicker ways so that people entering their golden age now will benefit from our achievements early. Donate to the center through our convenient portal before the year ends!
Merry Christmas, Happy New Year!
