Scintillon Institute welcomes the 25th Cytometry Development Workshop, Tutorials, and Cells, Sensors, and Systems Symposium. The goal of these events is to bring together scientists and engineers working to develop and apply new technologies for cell analysis.
The Cytometry Development Tutorials is a day of educational presentations on contemporary topics in image and flow cytometry. A collaboration between the Scintillon Institute and the SBP Molecular Discovery Institute, these tutorials are free and are held on Wednesday October 21st at the Sanford Burnham Medical Research Institute - Bldg 12 in San Diego, CA.

The Cells, Sensors, and Systems Symposium is a one day event, open to all, featuring cutting edge talks in cytometry technology and applications by leaders in the field. This free Symposium is a collaboration between the 25th Cytometry Development Workshop and the San Diego Center for Systems Biology. Event takes place on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Sanford Consortium for Regenerative Medicine in La Jolla, CA. The morning session starts at 8:30am and focuses on Cell System Models and Stem Cells. The afternoon session begins at 1:30pm and covers Fluorescent Protein Sensors and New Cell Sensor Systems.
The Cytometry Development Workshop is a series of meetings of flow and image cytometry technology developers, focused on the latest in hardware, software, and reagents & assays. The goal of this interactive, hands-on forum is to increase ease and efficiency in research. Every attendee is required to participate actively and make a positive contribution by discussing their current research, experiences, and needs. A background in core field experience with cytometry is recommended.
A number of important developments in cytometry had their origins at the Workshop, including development of digital pulse processing approaches for flow cytometers, initial discussions of designs for low cost cytometers for AIDS monitoring in developing countries, development of "Q & B" analysis of fluorescence sensitivity in flow, and development of standardization materials and protocols for cytometry with a recent focus on high-throughput systems and proteomics.
The 25th Cytometry Development Workshop: Technologies for Cell Analysis will be held from October 22nd to October 25th, 2015 at the beautiful La Jolla Shores Hotel in sunny San Diego. The workshop will begin at 6:30pm on Thursday, October 22nd (rooms are available at 3:00 PM) and the workshop will conclude after breakfast on Sunday, October 25th. Afternoons are usually unscheduled to allow participants free time to enjoy the area and for individual discussions. Attendance fees total $400.
